Spartans in the Stanley Cup Playoffs Update

EAST LANSING - The Michigan State hockey program was again well-represented in the National Hockey League this season with 17 Spartans playing in the league. The 17 Spartans were the fourth most alums of any school playing in the NHL in 2013-14. Of the 17 in the NHL this season, 11 are currently taking part in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Michigan State has had a Stanley Cup winner in six of the last eight seasons. Duncan Keith claimed his second Stanley Cup last season, joining Craig Simpson (1988, 1990) as MSU's two-time cup winners. In total, 11 Spartans have hoisted Lord Stanley's Cup.
