Anastos Announces New Women's Clinic
June 20, 2012
East Lansing, Mich. - Michigan State head coach Tom Anastos and his wife, Lisa, will host the first-ever Spartan Hockey Women's Clinic on Wednesday, July 18 from 6-10 p.m. at Munn Ice Arena. The clinic is designed for the female hockey fan - not just the seasoned player. Participants will gain insight on offensive, defensive, and special-team strategies, as well as have a chance to "lace `em up" for some on-ice instruction with current hockey players and the MSU staff. Download the 2012 MSU Women's Clinic registration Flyer "We have had a number of request from female fans who want to learn more about the game, Spartan Hockey and see our facilities," said Anastos. " This clinic will be a lot of fun for everyone and will provide each participant with a new perspective on the game." Special guests participants include Spartan women's coaches Suzy Merchant (Basketball), Cathy George (Volleyball), Stacey Slobodnik-Stoll (Golf), Simone Jardim (Tennis), Jacquie Joseph (Softball) and Kathie Klages (Gymnastics). The fee for the clinic is $75, which includes all off-ice and on-ice instruction, a Spartan hockey jersey and T-shirt, individual and group photos, and the Q&A session with hors d'oeuvres & beverages. Hockey equipment (including skates!) will be provided for those who need it, but participants can bring their own if they choose.
