Berry and Hildebrand Selected to the Big Ten Players to Watch List

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Big Ten Conference released its inaugural preseason poll on Thursday along with its Players to Watch List. Both the preseason poll and watch list were selected by the coaches.

Michigan State was selected to finish fourth, along with Ohio State, while Wisconsin was picked to win the conference. Minnesota and Michigan were selected second and third, respectively, while Penn State was picked sixth.

The Spartans had two players selected to the Players to Watch List in sophomore goaltender Jake Hildebrand and junior forward Matt Berry. In total, 13 student-athletes were selected to the list.

Hildebrand posted a .929 save percentage last season and a 2.35 GAA. He started 28 games as a true freshman, posting at least 27 saves in 22 of those starts.

Berry led the Spartans in points (31), goals (15) and assists (16) in 2012-13.
