EAST LANSING, Mich. - - Michigan State athletics has announced a partial list of the promotional events that will surround Spartan Hockey games this season. In addition to several enticing ticket packages, theme nights and more Chuck-a-Puck events will be on the docket for the 2009-10 campaign.

For four home games - including Friday night's season opener - a "Family Four-Pack" will be available, where fans can purchase four tickets, four drinks, and four menu items (choose from nachos, hot dogs, or pretzels) for $50, plus a processing fee. This ticket and concessions package is available ONLY online through MSUSpartans.com - this package is NOT available on gamenights at the door. Family Four Pack games are Oct. 9 vs. Clarkson, Oct. 30 vs. Western Michigan, Jan. 8 vs. Lake Superior State, and Feb. 26 vs. Bowling Green.

In addition, some other concessions promotions include the Nov. 5 Dollar Hot Dog night (sponsored by Kowalski) for the game against Nebraska-Omaha, and Dollar Brat Night (sponsored by Johnsonville) on Jan. 4 for the USNTDP exhibition.

At several home games this season, there will be "theme nights" where fans are encouraged to get into the spirit. It starts with a Oct. 30 Halloween Costume night, followed by Christmas Costume night on Dec. 12. On Jan. 9, it will be 80's night, and "Hockey Hair" night on Jan. 22. On these theme nights, a prize package complements of MSU Athletics will be awarded to best costume contest winners.

Charity initiatives are also a large part of the promotional calendar. Chuck a Puck, benefitting children's cancer charities, will be held during the intermissions of games against Western Michigan (Oct. 30), Michigan (Nov. 14, Jan. 29). and Notre Dame (Jan. 16), with a potential for more games to be added. On Dec. 12 against Bowling Green, the hockey program will sponsor aTeddy Bear Toss, where fans are encouraged to bring stuffed animals to toss onto the ice after the first Spartan goal of the game. All the stuffed animals will be donated to different children's charities in the greater Lansing area.

In a continuing effort to keep the history of the Spartan hockey program tied to its present, there will be several games which former players are invited back to campus to serve as Honorary Coaches. The former Spartans will attend pre-game meal with the team, spend time in the locker room, and have an opportunity to address the team with some of their memories and what it meant to them to don the Green & White.

Continuing this season as well will be the post-game autograph sessions on the northeast concourse. At the conclusion of a single-game weekend or the second game of a home series, selected players will be made available to sign that game's program poster. Over the course of the season, fans can collect 13 different posters and obtain the autographs of every Spartan on the 2009-10 MSU roster.
