Spartan Season Opener To Be Streamed Live Online

Michigan State University and CBS College Sports Network announced that two Men's Ice Hockey games from the season opening Ice Breaker Invitational will be available live and on-demand around the world via Internet video streaming as part of a special online event. Both Michigan State games will be broadcast in partnership with Boston University All-Access for $7.95 click here.
On Friday, October 10, the 2008-09 men's college hockey season will officially commence at Boston University's Agganis Arena, as Michigan State will face both UMass and Boston University. The Ice Breaker will be held in Massachusetts for the first time since its debut in 1997. This year's Ice Breaker format will feature an "East vs. West" competition, as BU and intrastate rival UMass will each face Michigan State and North Dakota. The Spartans won the 2007 NCAA title, while the Fighting Sioux have advanced to the Frozen Four in each of the last four seasons. No. 11 Michigan State and UMass will be the first two Division I teams to kick off their 2008-09 campaign when they face off on Friday, Oct. 10, at 4:30 p.m. Day two of the Ice Breaker will feature BU against the Spartans in the finale at 7:30 p.m. The online video stream of these two broadcasts also will be free to current annual subscribers to CBS College Sports XXL - which gives fans additional access to content from schools in the CBS Interactive network across a variety of sports.
