Season Full of Television, Promotions for MSU Hockey

East Lansing, Mich. - Up to 20 of Michigan State's hockey games will appear on live television broadcasts this season, while the promotional schedule features 10 home games with special ticket pricing in addition to lots of great promotions that make Spartan Hockey a fun, affordable destination for families and groups. Starting this Thursday against Ohio State, Comcast will broadcast five games over the course of the season, while the CCHA's primary television partner, Fox Sports Detroit, will carry eight. Both Fox Sports North and the Big Ten Network are on the docket for a pair of games, while MSU's final regular-season weekend sees CBS College Sports carry the first of two games between the Spartans and Notre Dame from the Irish's new Compton Family Ice Center. In all, 10 of Michigan State's road games will be carried live across the CCHA's television partners, so whether local or in a far-away locale, Spartan hockey is accessable to all fans of Michigan State. In addition to its array of full and partial-season ticket packages, the Spartan Ticket office has ten home games in which special ticket packages will be offered. Three games will have the "Four Seats, Four Treats" promotion, in which a package of four tickets and coupons for four Melting Moments ice cream sandwiches for $44, plus processing. Seven games will feature the Family Four Pack, which is four tickets, four small drinks, and four hot dogs, pretzels, or nachos for $50 plus processing. At seven games throughout the season, MSU's fan-favorite, Chuck-A-Puck, will be on the schedule, with all money collected going to Shoot for a Cure, MSU Hockey's charity which helps raise money in the fight against children's cancer. There will be two Junior Spartan events (Dec. 3. and Jan. 14), where Junior Spartans members receive a free ticket for themselves and one adult. There is also the Student-Athlete Food Drive to collect non-perishable items at the Nov. 25 game against Minnesota for local food banks, as well as the annual Teddy Bear Toss on Dec. 10 against Michigan. In addition, the team will continue to sign autographs after the second game of every series; the available players will rotate among the 10 seniors, the freshman, sophomore, and junior classes, and the team captains, and on Nov. 26, the entire team will sign autographs after it's game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
