Chuck-A-Puck, Costume Contest Highlight Weekend Hockey Promotions
Oct. 27, 2009
East Lansing, Mich. - Michigan State's hockey program will be in action at Munn Arena this weekend when it hosts Western Michigan on Friday evening. The Spartans are off to a great start with a 4-2 record, which includes last Saturday's overtime upset of top-ranked Miami. In addition to the action on the ice on Friday night, there are some promotions that will help add to the excitement. Gametime in East Lansing on Friday is 7 p.m., and tickets are still available. A specially-priced "Four Seats, Four Treats" package is available for the game against the Broncos: four (bench-seat) game tickets and four Melting Moments ice cream sandwiches for $44 (plus service fee). This specially-priced package is NOT available at the door, only through pre-purchasing through the Spartan Ticket office (517-355-1610). At the arena, the first Chuck-a-Puck game of the season will be held, a fundraiser for MSU Hockey's "Shoot for a Cure" initiative which benefits children's cancer charities. Pucks will be sold for $2 each (three for $5). During intermission, fans can toss their puck onto the ice surface; the closest puck to the center faceoff dot will win a prize package courtesy of MSU Athletics. In addition, fans are encouraged to come dressed to the game in their halloween costumes, as there will be a contest to determine the best costume of the night. As is customary on all home weekends, a selected team members will be available post-game on the northwest concourse to sign autographs. This week, the team's four sophomore forwards (Trevor Nill, Daultan Leveille, Mike Merrifield, and Brett Perlini) will be signing at the conclusion of the game.
