Lewandowski Named Big Ten Third Star of the Week
Freshman earns his second weekly conference honor of the year.
Michigan State freshman Mitchell Lewandowski was named the Big Ten’s Third Star of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. Lewandowski had four points last week, including three goals and one assist, as the Spartans split with No. 7 Wisconsin.
Lewandowski had a hand in all three MSU goals in the opener vs. the Badgers, scoring twice and adding an assist.
In Saturday's victory, Lewandowski gave the Spartans a 2-0 lead, scoring with 8:21 to play in the game.
The native of Clarkston is tied for the national lead among freshmen in both points (13) and goals (6).
The weekly conference honor is the second of his career as he earned First Star of the Week accolades on Oct. 24.
The Spartans are back in action this weekend as they host Ferris State on Friday at 7 p.m.
