MSU Prepares for Western Michigan, Wisconsin

GAME INFO -- Fresh off a big win over Big Ten foe Penn State on Sunday, the Michigan State men's soccer team gears up for one intrastate battle before closing out the week with its final conference game of the season. On Wednesday (Oct. 29) MSU will host Western Michigan in its final home appearance of 1997 before venturing to Wisconsin for a Sunday afternoon (Nov. 2) showdown.

THE RECORDS -- Michigan State starts the week with an overall record of 5-7-3 while sporting a 2-1-1 conference ledger. Last week, MSU dropped a 3-1 home decision to Bowling Green (Oct. 19) before claiming a key 3-2 win over Penn State on Sunday. Western Michigan comes to town with an overall mark of 5-7-2 while the Badgers of Wisconsin stand 6-11 overall, 1-3 in the Big Ten.

NOTES -- Junior forward Chris Slosar (Grand Blanc) was named the Big Ten Player of the Week for the second time this season following a two-goal performance vs. Penn State on Sunday. Slosar scored the tying and game-winning goals within a 1:07 span in the second half with his deciding boot coming with just 1:27 remaining in the contest ... Slosar has tallied a team-high 15 points this season on seven goals and one assist ... Junior Jeff Fliss (Plymouth) has moved into second place on the team's scoresheet with nine points on three goals and three assists ... Both Fliss and Slosar have recorded a pair of game-winning goals this season.
