Spring Soccer A Time for Growth, Change

In the weeks leading up to the end of the spring semester, both the men's and women's soccer programs wrapped up their spring exhibition seasons. Both head coaches - Tom Saxton on the women's side, and men's mentor Damon Rensing - both found the spring seasons invaluable to the development of their 2013 teams that will report to campus in the fall.

Cope Among Four Spartans Honored by NSCAA

Four Michigan State men's soccer players were named to the NSCAA 2012 Men's University Division Scholar All-North/Central Region team. Junior defensemen Kevin Cope was a first team selection, while junior midfielder Cody Henderson, junior defensemen Wesley Curtis, and redshirt sophomore Ryan Keener were second team selections. Rensing Announces 2013 Men's Soccer Recruiting Class

Men's soccer head coach Damon Rensing has announced that five athletes will enroll at Michigan State for the upcoming fall semester and will join the Spartan men's soccer program as a part of the 2013 recruiting class.

Cope Named 'Champion in the Classroom'

Junior centerback Kevin Cope (Canton, Mich.) is a recipient of MSU's "Champions in the Classroom" Award, and was presented the honor on Wednesday night at the MSU men's basketball game against Minnesota. The Champions in the Classroom recognizes Spartan student-athletes who excel in their academics as well as stand out as leaders on their team and the campus community.

Michigan State Assistant Men's Soccer Coach Kylie Stannard has been recognized by College Soccer News as one of the nation's top assistant coaches, as announced on January 9th.
