Men's Soccer Blanked By Ohio State, 2-0
Spartans fall to 1-2 in Big Ten play.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Michigan State men's soccer team dropped its second Big Ten game of the season to Ohio State on Sunday. The loss drops the Spartans to 7-3-1 overall and 1-2 within the conference, while Ohio State improves to 5-4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten.
About eight minutes into the first half, Ohio State striker Kyle Veris headed the ball off a Buckeye corner kick, past MSU netminder Jason Tillman (So., Brighton). OSU took the 1-0 lead and never looked back.
The Buckeyes sealed the game in the 63rd minute with another goal to boost their lead to 2-0.
Michigan State made an effort to climb back in the game firing 10 second half shots at the Ohio State goal. OSU goalie Ray Burse, Jr. made nine saves in the contest. For the game, MSU outshot OSU 15-12.
The Spartans return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 13 when they face Oakland University at 4 p.m. on the road. MSU's Big Ten season resumes on Sunday, Oct. 17 against in-state rival Michigan at 2 p.m. in Ann Arbor.
