MADISON, Wisc. - The Michigan State men's soccer team stumbled in its final Big Ten match of the season, 3-2 in overtime, to the Wisconsin Badgers. UW, who was previously winless in conference action, improves to 6-10-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the Big Ten. The Spartans fall to 6-5-5 overall and 2-3-1 in conference matches.

Wisconsin took the lead on a goal off of a set corner kick play in the 30th minute. However, just before the half, redshirt freshman Doug DeMartin (Mason) netted his fourth goal of the season to tie the game, 1-1. Rauwshan McKenzie (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) was credited with the assist.

The Badgers took the lead again about midway through the second half. With less than two minutes remaining in the match, the Spartans countered when McKenzie netted his first career goal, tying the game, 2-2.

At 97:46, Wisconsin attacker Erik Ortega slid the game winning goal past MSU goalkeeper Jason Tillman (Brighton) to give the Badgers the 3-2 Big Ten victory.

Michigan State travels to Valparaiso on Sunday, Nov. 6 for a 1:00 p.m. contest. Then the Spartans prepare for the Big Ten Tournament, Nov. 10-13 in Evanston, Ill.
