Michigan State Men's Soccer Drops Overtime Decision to Cincinnati

East Lansing, Mich. -- The Michigan State men's soccer team dropped its second straight game this afternoon as University of Cincinnati sophomore Greg Ruebusch's goal at 97:58 gave the Bearcats a 1-0 overtime victory in a game played at Meyers Field on the UC campus.

Cincinnati recorded seven shot attempts for the match while limiting the Spartans to four attempts. Senior Mike Mobley did not have to make any saves in picking up the shutout while MSU goalkeeper Matt Shumlas finished the match with two stops.

The loss leaves Michigan State's record at 2-2-2 while UC now stands 4-0-1.

The Spartans' next action will be next Friday (Sept. 19) when they play Fresno State in an opening-round game in the UNLV Tournament.
