Michigan State Men's Soccer Drops Opening Game of UNLV Tournament
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Michigan State men's soccer squad fell victim to a pair of second-half goals by Fresno State as the Bulldogs posted a 3-1 win over the Spartans in the opening round of the UNLV Soccer Tournament.
FSU got on the scoreboard first at 42:16 when Craig Tomlinson tallied, but the Spartans answered just 35 seconds later when Rick Smith came up with his first goal of the year.
In the second half, Fresno State scored at 63:46 and 75:52. The loss dropped MSU's record to 2-3-1. The Spartans will tangle with host UNLV on Sunday starting at 3:00 p.m. (EDT).
