EAST LANSING, Mich. - Men's soccer defender Kevin Cope, who was named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Year, has received national attention for his solid rookie campaign. TopDrawerSoccer.com tabbed Cope as one of the conference's best sophomores in 2010 while CollegeSoccerNews.com named him to their All-Freshman third team.
"Kevin had a special first season of college soccer," said MSU head coach Damon Rensing. "Not too many freshmen can start every game at the center back position, play the schedule we played, and perform game in and game out the way Kevin did. The recognition he has received this year is certainly warranted."
