East Lansing, Mich. - The Big Ten Network has announced its fall broadcast schedules for men's and women's soccer and field hockey, and the Spartan teams will appear on the BTN a combined six times, with five of those games being played on the Michigan State campus.
Men's soccer will have 10 games air on the network this fall, and of the nine that have been announced, three will feature Michigan State in Big Ten Conference matchups at DeMartin Stadium. The Spartans host Ohio State on Sunday, Oct. 2 at noon, which will be the second game of the men's soccer package on the Network. The Spartans will host Penn State a week later, also a noon game, and then will tangle with Michigan on Sunday, Oct. 30 in a battle for the Big Bear Trophy.
The women's soccer team appears on the Network on Sunday, Oct. 9 in a tape-delayed game. The Spartans host Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 1 p.m., but the game will air a day later and at 6 p.m.
Field Hockey will appear twice on the Big Ten Network this fall. The Spartans play at Indiana at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9, but that game will air at 4 p.m. as part of an MSU doubleheader (the women's soccer game against Illinois airs, tape-delayed, immediately following at 6 p.m.). The Spartans host archrival Michigan at Ralph Young Field on 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21; that game will air on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 4 p.m.
MSU's six appearances among the three sports is the third-most of any school in the Big Ten Conference. Michigan will have eight games among the three sports televised, including MSU-UM matchups in both field hockey and men's soccer. Ohio State will appear seven times.
