EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's soccer team will travel to Fort Wayne, Ind., for two exhibition games this week. Thursday the Spartans will take on Evansville at 5 p.m. and Saturday they will face IPFW at 6 p.m.

The defending Big Ten Champions returned to campus last week and began team workouts on Aug. 20. So far, first-year head coach Damon Rensing has liked what he has seen out of his team but knows there is still a lot of work to be done.

"I've been fairly pleased with how things are going," said Rensing. "I think the guys came in fit and so I think our fitness level is good and that is the first step. It's a pretty technical group that can play and we are still working through some concepts and how we want to play as a team."

MSU opens the regular season on Sept. 4 at home against Duquesne.
