EAST LANSING, Mich. - The 20th-ranked Michigan State men's soccer team will take on Lipscomb on Friday (Sept. 11) at 5 p.m. and then Wright State on Sunday (Sept. 13) at noon as part of the Michigan Invitational in Ann Arbor. Both games will be played at the U-M Soccer Complex.

The Spartans (1-0-1) won their season-opener last week, 3-1, over Duquesne in East Lansing and then tied No. 10 UIC on Sunday in Chicago. Spartan junior goalkeeper Avery Steinlage set the NCAA consecutive shutout minutes record in Sunday's tie as he improved his shutout streak to 998:43. Steinlage has not allowed a goal since Oct. 15, 2008 and has eight complete-game shutouts over that span.

Friday's game will be the first-ever meeting between MSU and Lipscomb while the Spartans are 2-3 all time against Wright State. The Spartans and Raiders last met in the 2002 season-opener in East Lansing which MSU won, 4-0.
