Thomas Trivelloni Named Big Ten Men's Soccer Offensive Player Of The Week

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State senior forward Thomas Trivelloni (Mt. Clemens) was named Big Ten Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Oct. 6. Trivelloni recorded two goals and two assists in the Spartans' two double-overtime victories this past week.
In a 3-2 double-overtime win over Loyola (Ill.) on Wednesday, Oct. 1, Trivelloni assisted on MSU's first goal after the Spartans fell behind 2-0 in the second half. Another Spartan goal sent the game into overtime where Trivelloni scored an unassisted goal in the 102nd minute.
On Sunday, Trivelloni's goal and assist helped the Spartans record their first win of the Big Ten season, a 2-1 double-overtime win against Ohio State. With MSU trailing 1-0 late in the first half, Trivelloni found the back of the net in the 80th minute. Early in the second overtime stanza, his pass set up Ryan McMahen's (So., Munster, Ind.) game-winning goal over the Buckeyes.
On the season, Trivelloni ranks second on the team with five goals and 13 points. His three assists are tied for the team high.
Michigan State is 6-2-2 through the first 10 games of the season, and is currently in first place in the Big Ten standings with a 1-0-2 conference record, good for five points. The Spartans will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 8 with a 4 p.m. game against Oakland at Old College Field. On Sunday, Oct. 12, MSU will host Michigan at 2:30 p.m.
