East Lansing, Mich. - Three Spartans from the men's soccer team earned spots on the All-Region teams as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Colin Givens (Troy, Mich.) received Second Team honors, while Domenic Barone (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Spencer Thompson (Shelbytown, Mich.) each earned Third Team accolades.

Givens earns his Second Team All-Region recognition for the second straight season. Givens was named to the Big Ten's preseason "Players to Watch" list, and has since played an important role on one of the nation's strongest back-lines. He was a unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten First Team after starting all 22 games of the 2010 season. He will be participating in the MLS combine in January.

Domenic Barone is recognized by the NSCAA for the first time. Barone also notched the only two goals during a second-half rally in a 3-2 overtime loss to Michigan (Oct. 30) and buried a penalty shot against Wisconsin (Oct. 17). The forward ended the year as the team leader in points (23) and goals (10) and earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors.

Thompson, who shared the team captaincy with classmate Jeff Ricondo, made the All-Region Third Team, his first NSCAA award. Thompson was named to the Big Ten's preseason "Players to Watch" list and received First Team All-Big Ten accolades. The midfielder earned the Big Ten Offensive player of the Week and TopDrawerSoccer.Com and CollegeSoccerNews.com's Teams of the Week (Sept. 13) after posting seven points on two goals and three assists in two games. He is finished his career tied for seventh in the Spartan recordbook for career assists with 20.
