2015 Spring Academic All-Big Ten Honorees Announced

One-hundred and eight Spartans recognized for having a 3.0 or better GPA.

2017-18: 9-20 overall singles record ... Played all 22 dual matches at No. 1 singles ... Took down three ranked opponents throughout the season ... Ranked No. 87 by ITA with Jasper Koenen in doubles action at one point in the season, leading the team with a record of 11-7 ... Named Big Ten Athlete of the week on April 3, 2018.

Spring 2018:
Finished with a record of 6-16 in singles, playing all dual matches at No. 1 singles ... Started off the dual match season with wins against Niko Wasilewicz of UIC and Jac Newis of IUPUI ... Clinched the match win against Drake, defeating Vinny Gillespie, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6) ... Went 2-0 over the weekend of March 30-31, defeating Raheel Manji of Indiana and No. 79 Gergely Madarasz, as well as going 2-0 in doubles against the Hoosiers and No. 57 Boilermaker pair to earn Big Ten Athlete of the Week ... Took down the No. 21 singles player Aleks Vukic of Illinois, 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 (10-7) for his third ranked win of the season ... Won a team-high 11 doubles matches with Jasper Koenen ... Also went 1-2 with Billy Shisler.

Fall 2017:
Tallied a 3-4 record in singles play ... Went 2-1 at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic ... Upset No. 92 Josef Dodridge of Wisconsin at the ITA All-American Championships ... 2-0 in doubles action with Jasper Koenen.


Finished with an overall record of 13-13 and a doubles finish of 11-14 ... He faced five nationally ranked opponents this season downing one of them ... Every match that he played this year was at No. 1 singles.

Spring 2017:
Finished with a 12-10 singles record ... Tallied six consecutive singles wins from Jan. 27 to Feb. 18 ... Played nine ranked opponents in singles ... Defeated ranked opponents in Big Ten play against Minnesota's Matic Spec and Indiana's Antonio Cembellin ... Had a 8-10 doubles record with Alexander Kim and a 3-4 doubles mark with Billy Shisler.

Fall 2016:
Compiled a 1-3 singles record beating Wisconsin's Darius Mackenzie ... Had a 2-1 doubles record ... Closed out the fall season winning his last two matches ... Paired with Alexander Kim to win two matches against Nebraska in doubles action.

Compiled a 20-15 overall singles record and a 11-13 overall doubles record. His 20 overall singles wins led the team, and his five conference singles wins tied for the most on the team.

Spring 2015:
Led the team in wins for the second straight year, tallying 15 overall and tying for the lead with five in Big Ten play ... Compiled a 15-11 singles record, including a 5-6 mark in Big Ten play, and an 9-9 doubles record, including a 3-3 record in Big Ten play ... Faced 10 ranked opponents, defeating Dartmouth's No. 119 Chris Kipouras ... Competed at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 spots in singles, earning records of 1-0, 13-10 and 1-1, respectively and finished the year on a three match win streak ... Played at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 positions in doubles as well, compiling records of 4-2, 2-4 and 3-3, respectively ... Teamed with Gijs Linders for most of the first part of the Spring, playing the majority of the matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 spot, tallying a 7-11 mark, including a win over Georgia's No. 44 Pual Oosterbaan and Ben Wagland ... Paired with Doug Zade towards the end of the semester, earning a 3-1 record.

Fall 2014:
Tallied a 5-4 singles record and a 2-4 doubles record ... Invited to the ITA All-American Championships, falling in the final round of the pre-qualifying draw to Oklahoma's No. 15 seed Alex Ghilea after defeating Dominic Patrick of Iowa, No. 25 seed Trey Daniel of TCU and Frankie Colunga of Texas A&M ... Paired with John Patrick Mullane to qualify in doubles as well, falling to Aj Cantanzariti and Max Linkin from Texas A&M ... Defeated Northern Illinois' Frederic Cadieux in the ITA Midwest Regionals ... Paired with Gijs Linders to knock off Wisconsin's Jose Carranza and John Zordani and Marc Herrmann and Chris Hobgarski of Nebraska ... Earned the No. 5 seed in singles for the Big Ten Indoor Championships.

Compiled a 19-11 overall singles record and a 13-10 overall doubles record.

Spring 2014:
Compiled a team-high 14 wins during the spring schedule, finishing 14-7 in singles ... Finished his freshman campaign with a 5-6 Big Ten record ... Tallied a 9-4 mark on court four ... Began his freshman campaign on a seven-match winning streak ... Earned eight wins over opponents on a ranked team ... Defeated McCoy of No. 29 Notre Dame, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 ... Defeated Bautista of No. 34 Tulsa, 6-3, 6-3 ... Took down Yeung of No. 33 Harvard, 6-4, 6-4 ... Beat Barry of No. 27 Penn State, 7-5, 7-5 ... Defeated Dujovne of No. 28 Purdue, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 ... Compiled a 10-8 doubles record during the spring schedule, teaming primarily with senior Aaron Pfister on court three ... Finished 4-3 in conference play ... Teamed with Pfister to earn five wins over opponents on a ranked team ... Defeated Santos/Kirby of No. 34 Tulsa, 8-3 ... Defeated Pollanen/Diaz of No. 2 Ohio State, 8-4 ... Beat Sinha/Sprecher of No. 74 Wisconsin, 8-1 ... Took down Ramirez/Sydow of No. 55 Minnesota, 8-1 ... Beat Kovacs/Silva of No. 28 Purdue, 8-7(5).

Fall 2013:
Compiled a 5-4 singles and a 3-2 doubles record during the fall schedule ... earned two wins at the Bobby Bayliss Invitational by defeating Louisville's Bonfre and Simich ... tallied a 2-1 singles record at the Big Ten Indoors with wins over Wisconsin's Kokorev and Iowa's Patrick.
