The Spartans lost individual matches to both Michigan and Northern Illinois.

Prior to MSU:
Two-time captain and 4-time all-conference, all-state and all-region selection at Lansing Catholic High School ... Reached the round of 16 in the state tournament in 2008 while helping his team to a second place finish ... Two-time runner-up in the state tournament in 2009 and 2011 ... Earned individual state champion honors in 2010 while helping his team to a fourth-place finish.
