Academic All-Big Ten Honors Announced for the 2017 Spring Season

In total, 141 Spartans earn a 3.0 GPA or higher.

2017-18: Compiled a singles record of 9-23 ... Split most matches between No. 4 and No. 5 singles ... Led the team in doubles when paired with Brett Forman with a record of 11-7 ... Ranked No. 87 in doubles with Forman at one point in the season ... Gwendolyn Norrell Community Service & Leadership Award winner.

Spring 2018:
8-13 singles record in dual action ... 3-5 at No. 4 singles and 2-6 at No. 5 singles ... Won first match of the season against Alvaro de la Fuente of UIC, 6-0, 6-4 ... Helped the team to a 4-3 win against Drake with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 win against Ben Wood on court five ... Won three consecutive matches from Feb 11-24 ... Won two B1G singles matches against Indiana and Northwestern ... 11-12 in doubles action ... Led the team with nine doubles wins with Brett Forman ... Also paired with Ivan Rakic (1-0), John Carlin (1-0), Jack Winkler (0-1) and Josh Mukherjee (0-4).

Fall 2017:
Competed at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, the Bobby Bayliss Invitational, ITA Midwest Regionals and Big Ten Indoors ... 3-2 overall in doubles ... 2-0 with Brett Forman and 1-2 with Jack Winkler.

2016-17:

Finished with an overall record of 12-20 in singles play and a doubles record of 12-14 ... Finished with an overall record of 10-9 in doubles play when partnered with Michael Dube.

Spring 2017:
Finished with a 10-16 singles record with one conference win... Compiled a 9-7 doubles record with Michael Dube and a 2-5 doubles record with Doug Francken ... Played at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles and posted 1-0, 6-8 and 3-8, respectively.

Fall 2016:
Finished with a 2-4 singles record ... Recording his two wins against Nebraska's Chris Schindler and Iowa's Jake Jacoby ... Had a 1-2 doubles record ... His one victory came paired with Michael Dube, defeating Youngstown's Mitch Maroscher and Thomas Rodrigues.

2015-16:
Compiled a 12-16 overall record in singles play and a 12-14 overall record in doubles play ... Led the team, along with Billy Shisler, with 12 wins in doubles competition ... Led the team, tied with Michael Dube, with two conference wins in singles play.

Spring 2016:
Went 11-12 in singles play and 12-10 in doubles competition throughout the spring ... Won five of his first seven singles matches ... Played at four singles spots, 1-0 at No. 2, 8-11 at No. 3, 2-0 at No. 4 and 0-1 at No. 5 ... Went 9-7 with Billy Shisler in doubles play, with seven wins at No. 2 doubles and two wins at No. 3 ... With Billy Shisler, beat Igor and Ivan Saveljic of No. 30 NC State and Benjamin Ugarte and Renan Hanayama of No. 53 Purdue in doubles play ... Two Big Ten wins apiece in singles and doubles competition ... Closed out the regular season with back-to-back Big Ten wins in singles play over Nebraska and Iowa.

Fall 2015:
Came back from a first-set loss to beat an opponent from Wisconsin-Green Bay to start the fall.

2014-15:
Compiled a 17-12 overall singles record and a 17-7 overall doubles record.

Spring 2015:
Tallied a 13-9 singles record, including a 4-5 mark in Big Ten play, and a 14-7 doubles record, finishing 2-4 in Big Ten play ... Paired with Doug Zade to win 11 consecutive doubles matches, finishing 12-5 overall together ... Defeated (with Zade) the doubles pair of John Mee and Adrian Ortiz-Ruiz from Texas ... Played at the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions, posting records of 1-1, 6-4 and 6-4, respectively ...Finished the season on a three match win streak.

Fall 2014:
Compiled a 4-3 singles record and a 3-0 doubles record ... Teamed with Alex Kim to win the doubles C bracket at the Vredevelt Invitational ... Defeated Nebraska's Charlie Shin and Court Clark in singles at the the Big Ten Indoor Championships at Minnesota.

Prior to MSU:
Two-time National Open doubles champion ... Two-time regional doubles champion ... Placed third at the Boys 18s Midwest Indoor Championships ... All-State selection in 2012, 2013 and 2014... Named high school team MVP all four years... all-conference selection all four years of high school... Earned academic all-conference honors in 2012, 2013 and 2014... Elected team captain as a senior.
