Ryan Young joins the Spartan men's tennis squad in his first season as an assistant coach in 2012-13. Young graduated from Clemson University in 2009, where he was a three-time captain and three-time All-ACC selection for the Tigers. Following his career at Clemson, Young toured on the professional circuit for five years and competed in over 20 different countries. His professional highlight came in Uzbekistan, where he defeated Denis Istomin, the 30th ranked player in the world at the time.
In 2009, Young served as a volunteer assistant coach and trainer for the Tigers. Young also worked as an instructor and volunteered with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Ministry Team while completing his degree at Clemson.
