Men's Tennis Earns Victory Over Toledo in First Weekend Match
Spartans beat Toledo to stay perfect on the season.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's tennis team earned a victory in its first of two matches this weekend as it took down the Rockets of the University of Toledo by a score of 6-1. After taking only one victory in doubles play, the Spartans finished strong by winning all singles matches.
Sophomore Denis Bogatov and Drew Lied formed the only winning tandem in doubles play, taking down Sarria and Weigand, 8-4. Seniors John Stratton and Jason Norville fell to Burus and Elezovic, 9-8 (3), while senior Austin Brooks and freshman Aaron Pfister lost to Dimofte and Dudzik, 8-6.
In singles play, the Spartans capped off a perfect 6-0 mark in the No. 1 singles spot as Denis Bogatov earned a 6-3, 6-7 (10-6) against Elezovic. Junior Ronnie Hulewicz also pulled out a close victory by defeating Burus 6-2, 7-5 in the No. 2 spot. Brooks and Stratton cruised to convincing victories as Brooks took down Sarria, 6-1, 6-0, and Stratton beat Dudzik by a score of 6-1, 6-2. Freshman Aaron Pfister earned a victory in the No. 5 slot by taking down Harika, 6-4, 6-1, and Norville defeated Dimofte, 6-3, 7-5, in the No.6 spot.
The Spartans wrap up weekend action on Sunday, Feb. 6 as they take on Wake Forest at 11 a.m. at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
