EAST LASNING, Mich. - Michigan State tennis completed the final day of the Tom Fallon Invitational hosted by Notre Dame. MSU won three singles matches against Alabama and one doubles match against the Crimson Tide. At the conclusion of the tournament, freshman John Patrick Mullane was selected to the All-Tournament Team.
In singles, Mullane picked up his second individual win of the invitational, defeating Daniil Proskura of Alabama, 3-6, 7-5 and 1-0. Doug Zade defeated David Vieyra, 6-4, 6-2 and Tyler Richmond took down Stuart Kenyon, 7-6 (2), 7-5.
Christian Roehmer dropped his match to Rens Van Der Vis, 6-4, 6-4. Harry Jadun lost his match to Jarrud Botha, 6-2, 6-2. Paul Heeder fell to Harris Barnard, 6-1, 6-1 and Denis Bogatov fell to Becker O'Shaugnessey of Alabama, 6-3, ret.
In doubles, Harry Jadun and Mullane beat Harris Barnard and Stuart Kenyon, 8-5. Roehmer and Zade fell to Dougie Barnard and Michael Fredericka of Notre Dame, 8-4.
Richmond and Heeder lost their match to Maximilian Phillips and Maksym Lagutin of Northern Illinois, 9-7.
The Spartans are back in action on Oct. 18 when it hosts the ITA Midwest Regionals in East Lansing.
