Updated Qualifying Round Draw

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's tennis kicked off the singles qualifying round of the ITA Midwest Regional today at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. Will Davis won both of his qualifying matches, taking down Nick Wong of Toledo, 6-4, 6-2 and Joey Leto of Wisconsin-Green Bay, 7-6, 4-6 and 6-4.

Christian Roehmer defeated Michael Treis of Western Michigan in round one, 7-5 and 6-1. Roehmer would later fall to Matt Ford of Cleveland State, 6-4, 1-6 and 6-3.

Doug Zade opened his tournament play with a 2-6, 6-3 and 6-4 win over Gary Notkin of Wisconsin-Green Bay before falling to Fedor Baey 6-4, 6-2.

In round one, Harry Jadun fell to Sten Levsink of DePaul, 1-6, 7-5 and 7-6 (5). Tyler Richmond also fell in round one, losing to Max Phillips of Northern Illinois, 7-5 and 6-1.

The qualifying singles round will finish tomorrow and the first round of doubles and the singles main draw will being at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. Action begins at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
