M. Tennis Finishes Day Two at ITA's
Four wins in singles play and two doubles victories lead the Spartans into a big day three.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's tennis team continued action on day two of the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, opening play in both qualifying singles and doubles. The day started off well for the Spartans, as senior Will Davis topped Gleb Skylr of Marquette 6-4, 6-2, to earn a spot in the main singles draw.
Action continued with the first round of doubles play, where the Spartans picked up two victories. Senior Denis Bogatov and sophomore Harry Jadun partnered to defeat Amir and Cadieux of Northern Illinois 8-5, while juniors Drew Lied and Aaron Pfister notched an 8-3 victory over Latosinsky and Basha of Detroit. Pfister and Lied are set to face Petrone and Zhu of Michigan in tomorrow's second round, while Bogatov and Jadun will face Kang and Freitas of IPFW.
The Spartans had their most success in singles play, where four Spartans advanced to the second round. Will Davis earned his second singles victory of the day as he topped Alan Reifer of Illinois-Chicago 6-1, 7-6 (2), and is set to face Kevin Metka of Ohio State tomorrow.
Pfister and Bogatov built on their success in doubles play, as Pfister earned a convincing 6-3, 6-2 victory over Barrett Franks of Michigan, while Bogatov defeated Nicolas Montoya of Notre Dame 6-3, 6-5. Sophomore Gijs Linders earned the final victory for the Spartans, topping Shaun Bernstein of Michigan 6-4, 6-2.
