Aaron Pfister Earns Big Ten Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week
Pfister went 3-0 over the weekend and led MSU to wins over Wright State and Detroit.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Junior Aaron Pfister was named Big Ten Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, Jan. 15. Pfister went a perfect 3-0 in matches this past weekend and led MSU to a 4-3 win over Wright State and a 7-0 victory over Detroit. It marks Pfister's second weekly award of his career, he was last recognized on Nov. 2, 2011.
The Grand Blanc, Mich., native came out early with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 victory over Lauri Makikalli of Wright State in the No. 1 singles position. In doubles play, he partnered with fellow junior Drew Lied to earn an 8-4 victory over Hayden Joblin and Jami Clark.
In the second match of the day, Pfister topped Pablo Nunez of Detroit 4-1 at No.1 singles, before Nunez retired due to injury. Pfister did not compete in doubles play against the Titans.
Pfister and the Spartans continue action this weekend as they travel to Memphis to take on the No. 33 Tigers on Jan. 18, and head to Nashville to face No. 37 Vanderbilt on Jan. 20.
