Men's Tennis Opens Big Ten Season
Ohio State is first on the calendar for the Spartans.

Big Ten Opener: The Michigan State men's tennis team begins the Big Ten dual match season this weekend. The Spartans will travel to Columbus, Ohio to tangle with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Last season, Michigan State defeated Ohio State 5-2 in the regular season. The Spartans also downed the Buckeyes at last year's Big Ten Championships by the score of 4-1.
Boise Blues: The Spartans ventured to Boise, Idaho over spring break to compete at the Boise State Invitational. Michigan State went 1-2 in a weekend series of dual matches. On Friday, Michigan State defeated Southern Mississippi by the score of 6-1. Junior captain Trey Eubanks lead the way with a 6-3, 6-3 victory in the No. 1 singles match. He also teamed with senior Ben Hetzler to take the No. 2 doubles match.
In Saturday's match with host Boise State, the Spartans fell 5-2 despite sweeping all three doublesi matches. Michigan State was unable to overcome Boise Stateis strong singles play as the Broncos captured five out of six singleis matches from the Spartans.
On the final day of competition, MSU was downed by Virginia Tech, 5-2. Sophomore Francisco Trinidad was the bright spot for Michigan State. He captured the No. 6 singleis match 6-4, 6-4. Trinidad also teamed with fellow sophomore Ivica Primorac to win the No. 3 doubles match 8-6.
