Here Comes The Big One: The Michigan State men's tennis team has completed its regular season and is looking forward to the annual Big Ten Championships. The event will take place Thursday-Sunday, April 30-May 3 in Champaign, Ill. Last year, this year's host, the University of Illinois, took home the Big Ten Crown in East Lansing, Mich.
The Spartans that will compete in this weekend's festivities are: junior Trey Eubanks at No. 1, sophomore Ivica Primorac at No. 2, senior Ben Hetzler at No. 3, junior Chris Struck at No. 4, sophomore Ken Kigongo at No. 5, sophomore Francisco Trinidad at No. 6, junior Mark Jacobson at No. 7, and sophomore Mark Findling at No. 8. The Green and White's doubles pairings will be: Struck and Kigongo at No. 1, Hetzler and Eubanks at No. 2, Trinidad and Primorac at No. 3, and Jacobson and Findling at No. 4.
Bad Time To Struggle: The Spartans dropped their final two Big Ten regular season contests this weekend. On Saturday, MSU lost to Purdue 5-2, and Michigan State fell to Illinois Sunday 6-1. MSU has lost its last four Big Ten dual matches and six of the last seven. The Spartans will look to regroup and they will get some assistance with Hetzler returning to the lineup for the first time since April 18.
