EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's tennis head coach Gene Orlando has announced the team's 2014-15 schedule. The highlight on the schedule this season will be the ITA Kick-Off Weekend on January 23-25 at the University of Georgia.
The first team tournament of the fall will take place Sept. 26 in Kalamazoo for the Western Michigan Invite.
The ITA Midwest Regional Championships are set for Oct. 16 in Ann Arbor.
The spring dual season begins Jan. 16 as MSU heads down to North Carolina to take on a trio of teams in the Tar Heel State, including Duke, North Carolina State; and North Carolina A&T. Eleven of MSU's 28 dual matches will be held in East Lansing. The non-conference away slate includes a number of visits to power conference schools, including Memphis on Feb. 19. The Spartans will also head south to Texas to play the Longhorns, who advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals last season.
The non-conference schedule also includes trips to Indiana on Feb. 7 to take on Ball State and Eastern Illinois, and Louisville on Feb. 14.
Big Ten Conference play begins March 20 as MSU will host Penn State. Big Ten home matches include Penn State, Illinois, Northwestern, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
The Big Ten Championships will be held April 23-26 at the University of Illinois.
