SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Michigan State men's track team finished the first day at the Meyo Invitational with high individual finishes in both running and field events. The two-day event features top teams from the Big Ten, SEC and Big XII, and is being held at Notre Dame's Loftus Sports Center.

Junior James Pancoast (Stevensville, Mich.) finished second in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:25.60, while junior Robert Sherman (Grand Ledge, Mich.) finished fourth in the event with a time of 2:25.79. Senior Brad Gebauer (Bad Axe, Mich.) continued to excel in the pole vault, finishing third with a jump of 16' 6 ¾".
