YPSILANTI, Mich.- Selected members of the Michigan State track and field team competed today (Saturday, April 17) at the Eastern Michigan Twilight at Olds-Marshall Track in Ypsilanti.

Sophomores Derek Strittmatter and Blake Kolo were the top finishers for MSU, finishing 11th and 15th, respectively, in the shot put, and 12th and 16th, respectively, in the discus. Strittmatter had distances of 47-11 1/4 in the shot put and 141-3 in the discus, while Kolo threw the shot put 45-0 1/2 and the discus 135-10. The duo also competed in the hammer throw, with Strittmatter placing 18th and Kolo 23rd.

Freshman Dominique Prince was the only other Spartan to place in the meet, finishing 16th out of 42 competitors in the 200-meter dash in 22.69.
