Fayetteville, Ark. - Michigan State men's track and field team sent three of their best to the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., March 9-10.

On Friday night (March 9), Paul Terek (Sr./Livonia, Mich.) earned All-American honors with an eighth-place finish in the final pole vault competition (17' 7 3/4"). Jacob Pauli (Northern Iowa) took first with a mark of 18' 7 1/2".

Andy Lixey (Jr./East Tawas, Mich.) ran in the 800-meter preliminaries. His time of 1:51.62 earned him 13th place, but did not advance him to the finals.

Steve Manz (Fr./West Branch, Mich.) competes in the shot put Saturday (March 10) at 4:30 p.m.

After day one of the NCAA Championships Alabama is first with 21 points, followed by Texas Christian (16), Stanford (15), and Arkansas (14).
