MSU Wrestling Had Solid Outing At University Nationals

Spartans had 18 wrestlers in action in final team action of freestyle season

2017-18 (Redshirt Freshman) 9-14 Overall, 4-6 Duals, 5-8 Tournaments: Received the Spartans’ Special Moments Award ... Tied for fifth on the team in dual wins with four, and fifth on the team in duals points with 16 ... Went 2-2 at the MSU Open ... Placed sixth at the EMU Open, posting a fall along the way ... Started the first dual of his collegiate career against No. 17 Central Michigan ... Returned to the dual lineup in January after over a month break ... Went 3-0 in first three Big Ten duals, including the match-winning bout against Fletcher Miller of Indiana, 6-2, for the first Big Ten win of his career ... As the anchor for the match against Clarion, pinned his opponent to win the match for the Spartans, 22-15 ... Made his first appearance at the Big Ten Championships, going 0-2 at the tournament.

2016-17 (Redshirt) 17-10 Overall, 0-0 Duals, 17-10 Open Tournaments:
Logged five falls ... quickest falls was in 0:36 over Raiden Macleod of Davenport, part of streak of three-straight falls in taking third at the Alma Open ... lost the opening bout of Alma Open, but then bounced back with six-straight wins, including stretch of three falls in a row, all under 4:32 ... was also third at the NUWAY Open and fifth at the MSU Open ... went 3-1 at the NUWAY Open, including two falls ... ended season winning 12 of last 17 matches.

PREP: Was an all-state selection at Monte Vista Christian High School ... also a two-time all-section honoree ... was runner-up as a senior ... helped the Mustangs win the league championship in his senior season ... also a three-year letterwinner for the Mustangs’ football team.
