2011-12 Spartan Wrestling Outlook

Spartans return eight wrestlers with NCAA Championships experience.

2010-11 (Sophomore) 23-9 Overall, 2-3 Duals, 21-6 Open Tournaments: Went 5-1 at the EMU Open and placed third . . . Won the freshman/sophomore division of the MSU Open by finishing 4-0, notching a technical fall, a major decision, and a fall in the first three matches . . . Went 1-2 at the PSU Open . . . Competed in the Cleveland State Open and took home third place after finishing with a 6-1 record . . . Defeated Zack Voller of Oakland at Spartan Duals, pinning him 58 seconds into the match . . . Finished undefeated and placed first at the Simonson Open; recorded a fall over Cameron Vlahos of Purdue in the first-place match . . . Went 0-2 at Big Ten Championships.

2009-10 (Redshirt) 3-4 Overall: Compiled a 2-2 record in the Eastern Michigan Open ... Posted a 1-2 record at the Nittany Lion Open.

PREP: Went 186-22 for coach Frank Lafferty at Rochester High School ... Was the Michigan state high school runner-up as a junior, posting a 50-7 mark at 152 pounds ... Placed sixth in the state after going 49-10 as a sophomore ... Was unable to compete at the state finals as a senior due to an illness but went 50-0 with 44 pins in his final prep season ...
