Four Spartans Head to 2013 NCAA Wrestling Championships

Junior Michael McClure is the No. 8 seed at heavyweight.

2013-14 (Senior) 32-9 Overall, 14-4 Duals, 9-1 Open Tournaments: Placed fifth at the 2014 NCAA Championships in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to earn All-America honors for the first time in his career ... Became the first wrestler to earn All-America honors at heavyweight at MSU since 1993 ... Advanced to quarterfinals at NCAA Championships before losing to eventual national champion Nick Gwiazdowski (NC State) . . . Went 5-2 overall at the NCAA Championships ... Defeated third-seeded Adam Chalfant of Indiana in the fifth-place match ... Finished the season with a 32-9 record and was named the team's Most Outstanding Wrestler ... Led team with eight falls ...
