MSU Wrestling Falls at Ohio, 22-16

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Spartan wrestling lost on the road to Ohio on Sunday afternoon, 22-16. Michigan State was out in front 16-6 after Ryan Watts picked up a decision at 157 pounds but then went on to drop the last four matches. The dual got started at heavyweight and No. 9 Michael McClure took down No. 15 Jeremy Johnson of Ohio, 3-2. McClure also topped Johnson earlier this season at the MSU Open. Brenan Lyon picked up his second dual win of the season with a 10-2 major decision over Kevon Powell, at 125 pounds, while Brandon Fifield dropped a 5-3 decision to Joe Munos at 133 pounds. Redshirt freshman Roger Wildmo won his second straight dual with a fall over Gavin Moore at 149 pounds, giving MSU a 13-6 lead. Ryan Watts extended the Spartan lead with a 4-2 decision over Sparty Chino at 157 pounds. After Ohio took the 165 and 174-pound weight classes, sophomore John Rizqallah was pinned by Ryan Garringer of Ohio in 5:32. Ohio also took the 197-pound match and the dual, 22-16.
