EAST LANSING, Mich. - The No. 11 Michigan State University wrestling team was defeated by conference foe No. 4 Minnesota, 39-6, Friday night. The loss drops the Spartans dual meet record to 8-7, 3-5 in the Big Ten.

Senior captain David Morgan, ranked No. 1 in the nation at 118 pounds, got the only victory of the dual for MSU, pinning Brett Lawrence in 4:16 to give Michigan State a 6-0 lead.

Morgan is now 34-0 on the season, 15-0 in the Big Ten. Minnesota, which brought eight ranked wrestlers into the dual, then won nine straight matches to close the meet, making the final score 39-6.

The Spartans head to Nebraska to take on the No. 10 Cornhuskers Sunday, then return home to host the No.1 Oklahoma State Cowboys on Feb. 20.
