No. 11 Wrestling Falls to No. 10 Nebraska, 28-6
Feb. 15, 1998 EAST LANSING, Mich. Michigan State jumped out to a 6-0 lead, but No. 10 Nebraska captured the final eight matches, rolling to a 28-6 victory Sunday in Lincoln, Neb. The eleventh-ranked Spartans recorded victories at 118 and 126 pounds courtesy of senior David Morgan and redshirt freshman Pat McNamara to take a 6-0 lead. Morgan, ranked No. 1 in the nation, improved to 35-0 with his 10-3 win, while sixth-ranked McNamara continued his impressive freshman campaign with a 5-2 decision over 12th-ranked Jeramie Welder. Nebraska took command starting with a 7-3 win at 134 pounds and avenged its earlier loss to the Spartans, 23-18 at the Cliff Keen/NWCA Wrestling Duals in January.
