Michigan Opens Dual Meet Season With a Win

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State University wrestling team opened it's dual-meet season with a 22-13 win over conference foe Ohio State at Jenison Fieldhouse on Friday. The victory leaves Michigan State with a 1-0 overall record.

The Spartans won the first seven matches of the meet and led 22-0 after the 167 pound weight class. Senior captain David Morgan (Ferndale), ranked No. 1 at 118 pounds, upped his record to perfect 20-0 for the season with a victory over OSU's Matt Fratta.

MSU will travel to Iowa City, Iowa to take on the defending NCAA Champion Iowa Hawkeyes on Sunday, January 4th.
