EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State wrestling team will host the annual MSU Open this Sunday (Nov. 15) at Jenison Field House. The event will feature over 400 collegiate wrestlers from around the nation.

"Once again the Open promises to be an outstanding tournament," said MSU head coach Tom Minkel. "The event has grown over the years and has become a great preseason tournament. The event also gives our fans a chance to see us wrestle at home."

The meet will be the first official date of competition this season for the Spartans as last week they wrestled unattached at the EMU Open. Eight Spartans placed at last weekend's event, including freshman Dan Osterman who took first place in the freshman/sophomore division at 133 pounds.

At last season's MSU Open, returning Spartans Franklin Gomez (133) and Anthony Jones Jr. (157) each took home titles in their respective weight classes while eight other MSU wrestlers placed in the freshman/sophomore division.

Fans can follow the results live at TrackWrestling.com by clicking on `Michigan State Open' and entering the tournament as a viewer. Brackets for each weight class will be available.
