East Lansing, Mich. - The Michigan State men's cross country team is set to compete in the Eastern Michigan Classic in Ypsilanti. Last weekend the Spartans finished 15th in the Pre-NCAA meet hosted by Indiana State University. Nathan Egger (Bath, Mich.) paced the Spartans with a 44th place at the Pre-NCAA meet, as all five MSU scorers finished just 1:02 seconds apart.

Jim Pancoast (Stevensville, Mich) crossed the finish line ten seconds after Egger in 58th place, Nick Oertel (Goodrich, Mich.) was 74th with a time of 24:55.0, Robert Sherman (Grand Ledge, Mich.) placed 124th in 25:27.0 and Justin Zonotti (Chesterfield, Mich.) was 149th to round out the scorers for the Spartan men.

 

This weekend's race will serve as the team's final tune-up before they head to Minneapolis, the following week, for the Big Ten Championship. The Green and White finished 7th at last season's Big Ten Championships.
