Spartans Travel to Florida State for Big Ten/ACC Challenge

The matchups for the 2013 Big Ten/ACC Challenge were announced by the two conference offices this afternoon, as the Michigan State women's basketball team will travel to Florida State on Wed., Dec. 4. This year's Challenge will mark the seventh year of the event that has been extended to 2016.

Michigan State women's basketball head coach Suzy Merchant announced Monday that Tempie Brown has been promoted to Associate Head Coach, after spending the last four seasons as an assistant coach on her staff.

Spartans Fall to No. 10 Maryland in NCAA Second Round

The Michigan State women's basketball season came to a close on Monday night with a 74-49 loss to No. 10 Maryland in the NCAA Tournament Second Round in College Park. Alyssa Thomas led the fourth-seeded Terrapins (26-7) with 28 points, while Becca Mills and Annalise Pickrel had 12 points apiece for the fifth-seeded Spartans (25-9).

NCAA Tournament Second Round Practice Day Update

Michigan State women's basketball faces No. 4-seed Maryland in the second round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament on Monday at 7:20 p.m. in College Park, Md. Today the Spartans held a press conference and practiced at the Comcast Center. Tomorrow's game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com.

Michigan State Tops Marist, 55-47

Kiana Johnson scored 16 points, Annalise Pickrel added 14 and fifth-seeded Michigan State halted Marist's string of first-round NCAA upsets Saturday with a 55-47 win. Jasmine Thomas added 10 points for the Spartans (25-8).
