On the last five minutes of the game...
Defensively we did some things. We got some rebounds and we got some steals down the stretch. We are a team the people enjoy watching but we are also a team that the heart is there. That is what the last five minutes are about. It is about who is going to grind it out, who is going to go get it, who has got a little more want. I thought the fans really helped us. We were a little bit flat at times and they were loud tonight and got us going.

On guarding Amy Jaeschke...
We made her work by fronting her. We just kept talking about using our speed and quickness versus their power and strength. Any time that Jaeschke got in a position where she was creating contact against us, we were in trouble. I kept saying "You have to be in front of her. Your help will be behind you but we cannot let her get it on the block ever. We were fronting. We had to get good ball pressure so that it wasn't an easy pass in.

On the chance at a Big Ten title...
That is what everybody aspires to and we are coming down the stretch here. It is something you want to achieve but the thing that is most important is that we don't worry about anybody else. We worry about this game and then the next one. We are going to have our hands full at Illinois. Whatever is at stake ends up being at stake. I do think it is a team that presents its own challenges.

On being good rebounders...
I think we are athletic and quick. We use our speed and our quickness to our advantage and we are tough box-outs. Lykendra Johnson has a knack for getting around people. I think our quickness eventually wears people out over time and we come at you. Sometimes we will send all five. I do think we are tough. It just takes one guy to miss a box-out and we come at you pretty hard on that end.

On Kalisha Keane in the last few minutes...
I think sometimes she wants it so bad she can be her own worst enemy at times. If you sit her down for a little bit she will calm down. You can say what you want but those last three or four minutes Kal is going to come to life and find a way. I think that is what is easy to fall in love with this team about. They just find ways and it is somebody else every night.

Northwestern Head Coach Joe McKeown

On tonight's game...
We had tremendous opportunities in the last five minutes and we let it slip away. Everything came down to giving up offensive rebounds. We did what we wanted to do as making them miss, and its just a huge difference giving them two shots. I thought we did everything that we wanted to do expect not give those two shots. We got to give them credit, but I am really disappointed the way we finished the game the last four, five minutes. I don't have a running box score but it seemed we were up one, down one. I thought it was a great game for 35 minutes

On the last five minutes...
I thought we forced them (Michigan State) to take shots a little outside of what they wanted to do. But, they made big plays. They made a couple of big plays (Kalisha) Keane hit a big three, (Taylor) Alton made a big three. There just nails in the coffin. I don't know if we were up one, up two, down two when they hit them. We got to them late I think we got a hand in them.

On Kalisha Keane...
Keane is a great player. She is one of the best players in the country. I thought we did a good job on her all-night but she stepped up.

On Michigan State's offensive rebounds...
I think a part of it was the shots we made them take. There was a lot of loose ball long rebounds and they're quick. I think their quickness got us on the weak side a little bit. I think that was part of it until I watch the film I don't have a great answer. There just a good offensive rebounding team. When we are good, we block people out of rebounding. In the game that we have lost in the Big Ten we have had the same problems.

On the play of Amy Jaeschke...
She is a great player, she is an All-American. We just did a poor job executing getting her the ball in the last five minutes. Michigan State did a pretty good job getting around her and helped weak side. They made it a little tougher.
