Michigan State finishes the season with a 23-14 record...the 23 wins tie for the fourth winningest season in school history. Below is a look at MSU's top winning seasons:
1. 33 (2004-05)
MSU closed the season winning 10 of its last 13 games...the Spartans were 13-5 at home this season and had their eight-game winning streak snapped with the loss to Marquette.
Allyssa DeHaan broke her Big Ten single-season blocks record and established a new mark with 150 on the season...her 145 blocks last season was a Big Ten record at the time...the 150 blocks tie for the fifth most in a single-season in NCAA history...DeHaan's 22 blocks in the WNIT set a new tournament record.
Suzy Merchant tied her career high with 23 wins this season...she also recorded 23 wins at Eastern Michigan during the 2004-05 season...Merchant tied Karen Langeland for the most wins as an MSU coach in her debut season...Langeland went 23-6 her first season in East Lansing in 1976-77.
Kalisha Keane scored a career-high 24 points against Marquette...she also tied her career high with nine field goals...she finishes the season as the top freshman scorer in program history with 460 points (12.4 avg.)...her 460 points are the 14th most in an MSU season.
DeHaan scored 11 points, giving her 531 for the season, which ranks fourth most in school history...she is one of just five Spartans to score 500 points in a single-season.
DeHaan was 9-for-10 from the line...her 124 made free throws this season rank third best in school history...she finishes the season with an 83.3 free-throw percentage.
Michigan State fell in its first appearance in the WNIT championship game...the Spartans are 11-4 all-time in the WNIT.
Michigan State has won 13 postseason games the past five years, the most of any Big Ten team.
Michigan State's 23 wins are the most of any Big Ten team this season.
Brittney Thomas recorded six rebounds and had 202 this season...that mark represents the most ever by a Spartan freshman guard...she is one of just eight freshmen at MSU to record 200 rebounds in a season.
The 37 games this season tie for the most played in program history (37 in 2004-05 with a 33-4 record)...the 2004-05 season is also the only other year MSU has played in the month of April.
Marquette's 81 points tied for third highest MSU allowed all season (84 by Wisconsin on Jan. 2; 82 by Iowa on Feb. 7; 81 by Minnesota on Jan. 27).
