Opening Statement...
Game-wise, it was a much better second half than first half. Holding them to only 19 second half points is very, very good. Obviously, it wasn't our "A"game as a group. I'm grateful that Aisha put a strong game together. I don't think that any other player did. I think it's important that a team learns how to win ugly. That was a win-ugly game for us, and I certainly give credit to Hartford. They were scrappy and hustled, were well-coached and did a great job. We're going to take lessons from this game and practice this week. Obviously, we have finals and things, so we're going to take a couple days off for finals, and we'll get back at it and get ready for LSU.

On what the game showed her about the team...
Well, it just tells me that my team is learning and growing. Learning how to be consistent, learning how to be ready for every single game, and I think we have a problem with that a little bit, being ready for every game. I think that is going to come through maturity. Mind you, it was a sophomore that stepped it up tonight, so it's not really anything to do with age. The personality of this team needs to be more consistent. A lot of this film will bother me, especially in the first half, and especially them getting to the ball quicker at times.

On both teams' struggles from three-point range...
Well, you know me, I like to credit the defense on that, and it might have been the Palace, who knows? Maybe the rims are different in the Palace. Again, I can't explain it for you. I just know that we played badly all around. I'm thinking more about rebounding. Being out-rebounded is not a good thing for us. It's the second game in a row that we've been out-rebounded and that needs to stop. With turnovers, we were a little bit more under control in the second half than in the first half. Sometimes, you'll have those nights where the rim is nice and wide. Sometimes it's awfully tight.

Hartford Head Coach Jennifer Rizzotti

Opening Statement...
It was a great experience to come here and play in the Spartan Clash. Having the opportunity to play in a NBA arena isn't something that happens often, so we were honored to be invited. Michigan State is one of the best teams on our schedule this year. It was a great test for us to come out and play against a great team who has built a tradition of success over the past five years.

Out rebounding MSU...
Well, we missed a lot of shots, so there were a lot of rebounds to be had. Our kids had a great mentality, at least in that aspect that we were going to crash the boards. Twent offensive rebounds is high for us. I did like the aggressive play from our post players. However, I would prefer we make more shots so we don't have as many opportunities to get offensive rebounds.

On if the team had a poor shooting night because of playing at The Palace...
It was a little of both. We don't usually play in this big of an arena, but I would say it had more to do with Michigan State. Their defense is tough. I thought our post players shot well. However, our guards really struggled except one. We might have rushed our shots a little bit because of their pressure and nerves. At the end of the game, we just took a few desperation shots.
