EAST LANSING, Mich. - Junior guard Maxann Reese's 41-point effort against Iowa on Jan. 29 earned special recognition in this week's Compaq College Basketball Plays of the Week. Reese will be featured along with the best plays from last week's men's and women's college basketball games.
Compaq and CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) co-sponsor the plays of the week and distribute video highlights nation-wide to media outlets via satellite. A brief highlight of Reese's Big Ten record-tying 10th three-pointer will be aired along with the other plays of the week.
Reese scored a school-record 41 points to help MSU overcome an 18-point halftime deficit and defeat Iowa, 81-69, last Friday in Iowa City. She tied the Big Ten record for three-pointers with a 10-for-16 performance from behind the arc. Her 10 triples are the most in the nation this season and tie for sixth on the NCAA all-time list.
