EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State sophomore center Allyssa DeHaan has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). DeHaan earned third-team honors for her 3.38 GPA as a pre-med major. On the court, DeHaan is among the Big Ten leaders in several categories, including scoring (14.8 ppg), rebounding (8.0 rpg), free-throw percentage (84 percent) and blocked shots (99).
DeHaan ranks fourth in the Big Ten in rebounding, fifth in free-throw percentage, sixth in scoring and seventh in field-goal percentage (49 percent). For the second straight season, she leads the conference in blocked shots, averaging 4.1 a game.
This marks the fifth consecutive year Michigan State has placed a student-athlete on the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Team.
Michigan State returns to action to face Purdue Monday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Breslin Center.
